Social Maturity among High School Students

Abstract

The present investigation focuses on “Social maturity among high school students”. The study was conducted over a sample of 700 (350 boys and 350 girls) high school students studying in IX class in 8 different schools (4 urban and 4 rural) of Salem District. A Social Maturity Scale (RSMS) was used to measure social maturity. The reliability was calculated as 0.98. The results indicated a significant difference in terms of sex and not in location. The study has a few educational implications for the students, parents and teachers.
