Time Management Practices among Adolescent Girls in Bangalore City

Abstract

Time Management is the process of planning and exercising conscious control over the amount of time spent on specific activities, especially to increase effectiveness, efficiency or productivity. It is a meta-activity with the goal to maximize the overall benefit of a set of other activities within the boundary condition of a limited amount of time, as time itself cannot be managed because it is fixed. Time Management is the process of organizing and planning how to divide one's time between specific activities. Good time management enables one to work smarter-not harder- so that you get more done in less time, even time is tight and pressures are high. Failing to manage one's time damages one's effectiveness and causes stress. Time management refers to the way that you organize and plan how long you spend on specific activities. Time management is related to different concepts such as; project management, attention management study was conducted to find out the time management practices among adolescent girls studying in Bangalore city. The sample of 30 adolescent girls was randomly selected. The survey method was done using questionnaire as a tool .The objectives of the study were to know the awareness of time management among students and to find out the time management practices among the students. From the study, it was found that a majority of the respondents were aware of the concept of time management, most of them spent about 7 hours in college and lived close to college and spent only about half an hour in transit. A majority of the respondents were able to find time for leisure activities and also got sufficient sleep between 6-8 hours daily.
