| Abstract | ||
School environment indicates a proportion of the quality as well as quantity of the intellectual, imaginative and social support that has been accessible to the subjects during their school life. The school environment has a vital influence in the process of child development. School is considered to be a second home for the child and has a radical influence on the personality of the child. The present study is an attempt to know the perception of secondary school students towards their school environment. It explores their perception with reference to certain demographic variables like gender, locality of school, type of school and medium of instruction in the school. The study has been conducted on the sample of 243 students studying at various secondary level schools of the Aligarh District of Uttar Pradesh. The School Environment Inventory (SEI) developed by K.S.Mishra (2002) has been used. The findings of the study revealed that there exists a significant difference in the perception of secondary school students with reference to, the locality of school, type of school and medium of instruction. But no difference was found with reference to their gender. |
