| Abstract | ||
The discourse about Film and Novel can be traced back to the commencement of the film industry. With the amelioration of technology, a new medium (film industry) came into existence and movie makers started adapting classical text into movies. Some of the earliest examples are – Cinderella, King John, Alice in Wonderland etc. The adaptation of Story from novel to film is as old as cinema itself from Bollywood to Hollywood we witness number of stories adapted every year from novel to film. Both the medium entertains us by one way or another and the story is the common thread between novel and film. Whenever the story is transfer from one medium (novel) to another (Film) there are changes that take place in the story. This research deals with Thomas Hardy’s main character Jude and how it changes when transfer from novel to film. |
