Organic farming has gained significant attention worldwide as a sustainable agricultural practice. This paper examines the status of organic farming in India, focusing on the state of Gujarat. It explores the historical background of organic farming, its principles, and its benefits. The paper also discusses the challenges faced by organic farmers in India and the initiatives taken by the government and non-governmental organizations to promote organic farming. The case study of Gujarat provides insights into the current status of organic farming in the state, its success stories, and the strategies adopted to promote sustainable agriculture. The paper concludes with recommendations for further enhancing organic farming practices in Gujarat and India. |
