Indian Agriculture during Planning Period (1951-52 to 1989-90): Before Globalization

Abstract

The Indian agricultural development has been achieved, especially before the globalization through the five year plans. The basic infrastructure for agriculture, the institutional changes for the support of agriculture, government aid and research activities, altogether benefited the Indian agriculture. The five year plans had a target of achieving defined success. The government of India took great efforts in this regards. This paper gives a brief contribution made by the Indian agriculture during the five year plans.
