Importance of Women Milk Producers of Saharanpur District in Uttar Pradesh

Abstract

Animal Husbandry and dairying are integral part of agriculture. In India human labour is vital source of power applied in agriculture, of which a large portion is contributed by rural women. Women perform various operations from collection of fodder to milking, to know the role of women in milk production of Rampur Maniharan block of district Saharanpur, a study was conducted during the year 2018-19. The study was done in 10 villages, which covers 120 cases (40 small farmers, 40 marginal farmers and 40 landless labourers). The work performed by women labour is more than 50% thus their work is found more significant.
