This paper aims to review the impact of mindfulness practices on psychological well-being. The root of mindfulness is visible in Buddhist tradition, which helps mental health and enhances psychological well-being. Mindfulness's core components are awareness of the present moment, non-judgmental, and conscious attention. However, the theoretical underpinnings of mindfulness are linked with psychological theories. Furthermore, this paper discusses mindfulness-based interventions and helps in understanding their relationship with psychological well-being across various populations and contexts. Moreover, mindfulness practices can be examined by understanding specific domains of psychological well-being by focusing on stress reduction, anxiety and depression management, resilience enhancement, and overall quality of life improvement. Also, the paper emphasizes the psychological theories for understanding mindfulness and its association with psychological well-being. |
