| Abstract | ||
Climate change affects Indian agriculture. From ancient times, India's agriculture has relied on monsoons. Indian agriculture suffers from rising temperatures. Climate change harms agriculture, hydropower, forests, and rural livelihoods. Climate change is expected to have a major influence on the Indian economy, particularly on rural farmers who rely on rainfall. Climate change makes the agricultural sector vulnerable, which hampers hunger, malnutrition, and poverty reduction initiatives in India and internationally. India's temperature is expected to rise by 3-4°C by the end of the 21st century, resulting in a loss of 3-26% in net agricultural earnings, according to the IPCC. Global and Indian experts have studied how climate change affects agriculture and food security. Existing studies show how climatic variability impacts food security and nutrition, but little is known about how climate change vulnerability affects nutrition in India. So, India needs sustainable agriculture. |
