| Abstract | ||
China’s OBOR has been presented as China’s leading and very ambitious development project for the next four decades. Some see the Chinese Marshall Plan aimed at integrating China into its environment and bringing the policies of the East Asian countries into Beijing's own ambitions and priorities. China has the financial capital, the institutional structure, such as the AIIB, the will and the capacity to make it work. This study uses qualitative approach and secondary data particularly journal articles, conference proceedings, various documents of government, books, newspaper articles, magazine articles, and various websites of internet have been extensively used to determine the objectives. This research argues that regional powers and agencies will get economic and political competition from these initiatives. This research also analyzes the threats and obstacles associated with the implementation of the OBOR initiative. China wants to control world market and for that China is working towards OBOR. Pakistan and Chinese nexus on China Pakistan Economic Corridor is also a threat to India. It is going to be a challenge for India to survive in the global market. China under its One Belt and One Road initiative is controlling ports of the Indian Ocean Region and making a ‘String of Pearls’ to counter Indian response. |
