Abstract

This research reports the incidence of psychosomatic conditions in psychiatric patients in India. The psychosomatic conditions examined included hypertension, peptic ulcer, bronchial asthma, rheumatoid arthritis, ischemic heart failure and persistent pain. 21.5 percent of mental facilities have psychosomatic disorders. Ischemic Heart disorder is not a single illness, but a condition of many factors. In several of the instances the reasons stay silent. That is of necessity attributed to the constant anxiety and less rest. It is to be known that ordinary sleep is not rest, for stresses cannot always be settled fully in ordinary sleep. A psychosomatic illness affects both the body and mind. This disorder includes clinical manifestations arising from mental or emotional factors. Most prominent triggers include tension, anxiety, and depression. If certain psychological entities are not interpreted correctly, it can result in somatic disorder leading to conversion hysteria. Even the oral and paroral systems exhibit symptoms of these psychosomatic conditions. The present analysis has been conducted from text books and papers relating to psychosomatic disorders, Ischemic heart disease (IHD), and coronary heart disease (CHD).
