Transitional metal complex electronic spectra, especially in the first transitional sequence. Although less studies of this spectrum are nowadays per se than before, its study is essential for understanding the excited electronic conditions of complexes. The energy needed to promote an electron from one orbit to another or, in particular, to arouse a molecule from the electronic state of its ground to an electronic excited state corresponds to light absorption in spectrum regions that are near-infraroted, apparent or UV. The absorption bands for transitional metallic complexes are relatively weak in the first two of these regions and are linked to transitions located largely on the metal atom. |
