Abstract

This study looks into how important emotional intelligence (EI) is for improving leadership performance in a variety of sectors. Organisational success is significantly influenced by the effectiveness of the leadership, and in the fast-paced corporate world of today, it is critical to comprehend how emotional intelligence (EI) affects leadership. Our cross-industry analysis looks at data from a number of industries, including manufacturing, healthcare, technology, and finance, to give a complete picture of how EI affects leadership. Using a mixed-methods approach, the study asks leaders from several industries questions in both qualitative and quantitative ways. The EI competencies of leaders and their general effectiveness are found to be strongly positively correlated, according to quantitative study. Leaders who score higher on Emotional Intelligence (EI) demonstrate greater interpersonal skills, adeptness in resolving conflicts, and enhanced flexibility. Qualitative findings gleaned from interviews illuminate the complex ways in which emotional intelligence (EI) shapes leadership behaviour. Empathetic leadership, increased staff engagement, and the capacity to handle challenging organisational issues are all facilitated by emotional intelligence. It also makes it easier for a positive company culture to emerge, one that fosters resilience and creativity. According to the research, emotional intelligence (EI) is a crucial competency for executives in a variety of fields. Companies with a strong emphasis on emotional intelligence (EI) development within their leadership teams are better equipped to meet the demands of today's workplace and see long-term success. This study adds to our understanding of the relationship between emotional intelligence and leadership and provides insightful information for organisational initiatives and leadership development programmes that attempt to improve the effectiveness of leaders.
