Abstract

Kamala Markandaya is a standout amongst India‟s best-known novelists. The way that her assemblage of work, particularly the novel The Nowhere Man, foreshadowed the blast of distributed works by South Asian scholars in the course of the most recent quite a few years makes her novels required reading for anybody interested in Indian culture. Markandaya investigates various issues in her novels, including urbanization, destitution, sexuality, sex, interracial connections, India‟s battle to maintain its personality in an increasingly Westernized world, and expansionism‟s effect.
