Membrane potential data obtained using a cellulose acetate membrane with aqueous solutions of monovalent ios have been analyzed to estimate key transport properties, including membrane perm selectivity, membrane potential, ionic transport numbers, and fixed charge density. The flow of monovalent ions at different composition and magnetic field strength through this membrane has been measured. Kesting1 and coworkers studied reverse osmosis using various surfactant membrane. This was attributed complete formation of the liquid membrane adjacent to the cellulose acetate membrane. It was believed that the hydrophilic nature of monovalent ions was primarily responsible for these changes. |
