| Abstract | ||
The study revealed that the exportation of Basmati rice was more stable in Pre-WTO compared to Post-WTO. The study attributed this situation to possible fluctuations in world prices of rice products Post-WTO coupled with changes in India‟s export policy. Thus although domestic consumption of Basmati rice increased in the Post-WTO era, the export surplus of Basmati rice decreased leading to trade inconsistencies. The study further revealed that there was a significant difference in export value of Basmati and Non-Basmati rice between 2003 and 2016. |
