Realism in literature is the hypothesis or practice of constancy to nature or to real life and to precise portrayal without romanticizing of regular day to day existence. The eighteenth century works of Daniel Defoe, Henry Fielding, and Tobias Smollett are among the soonest examples of realism in English literature. It was deliberately received as a tasteful program in France in the mid-nineteenth century, when interest emerged in recording beforehand disregarded parts of contemporary life and society. The realist accentuation on separation and objectivity, alongside clear however restrained social criticism, ended up noticeably integral to the novel in the late nineteenth century.
