The constitution of India is the embodiment of certain fundamental rights for its citizens. It guarantees civil liberties of the individuals so that all can lead their lives in peace and harmony as a citizen of the country. ‘Rights’ literally means those freedom which are exercised for the good of the individual as well as for the community. There are millions of children with disability living in this globe who have traditionally been marginalized and deprived of normal schooling. Education is the process through which the human personality develops to its full potential and strengthens respect for basic freedoms and human rights. Since education gives a person the tools to overcome any obstacle in life, it is also a right for every individual. A novel strategy for teaching the handicapped and kids with special needs is inclusive education. Diverse and varied pupils study together in the same classroom via inclusive education. Despite the fact that the Indian government has passed several laws and regulations to provide special education for children with disabilities and special needs, these programs are still just in principle since they have not been properly implemented. Various national and international endeavours have also been made for inclusive education to reach out the goal of ‘Education for all’. In this paper, an attempt has been made to highlight different national and international endeavours and policies towards the inclusive education. |
