Parental attitude of supervisory and non-supervisory employees towards child rearing : A Comparative Study

| Abstract | ||
Parental attitude towards child rearing is very important for human being. It is universal fact that attitude is a learned phenomena and several studies results have shown positive correlation between parent’s and their offspring’s attitude. The present study aimed to explore the parental attitude of supervisory & non-supervisory, personnel towards child rearing. The study was conducted on the sample of 50 supervisory and 50 non-supervisory male personnel of Steel Authority of India (SAIL) Bokaro, Jharkhand. Respondents age range was 30-45 years and from all categories- upper, backward, scheduled & scheduled tribe castes and were selected by incidental cum purposive sampling technique, Indian adaption of parental attitude research instrument (PARI) by Saxena (1976) was used to collect the data. t-ratio was computed to analyse the data, conclusion emerged that supervisory & non-supervisory personnel groups differed significantly on 15 dimensions of PARI but on 5 dimensions they differed insignificantly. |
