Occupational Stress of Secondary School Teachers in Relation to Mental Health

| Abstract | ||
This study has made an attempt to understand the occupational stress of secondary school teachers in relation to mental health. The sample of study comprised of randomly selected 100 (50 male and 50 female) of government and private schools of Distt. SBS Nagar. Teacher’s occupational stress scale (Sharma and Kaur, 2014) and mental health inventory (Jagdish and Srivastava, 1983) for teachers were used to assess the occupational stress and mental health of teachers respectively. The results shown that there is i) no significant difference in occupational stress of secondary school teachers with respect to gender ii) significant difference in occupational stress of secondary school teachers with respect to type of school iii) no significant difference in mental health of secondary school teachers with respect to gender iv) significant difference between the mental health of government and private school teachers v) a positive relationship in occupational stress and mental health of school teachers. |
