Abstract

This paper focuses on implementation and effectiveness of Janani Suraskhya Yojana (JSY) a scheme for pregnant mothers that were launched by Government of India in April 12, 2005 under National Rural Health Mission (NRHM) in post natal mothers treated in VSS Institute of Medical Sciences & Research, Burla, Odisha. The study was conducted between November 2017 and February 2018 with a sample size of 100 respondents. The study accessed the awareness of registered mothers about the programme and effectiveness of it. It was concluded in the paper that JSY programme has been effectively implemented in the institution which has led to the decrease in maternal mortality in the state.
