Influence of Motivational Movies on Coping Abilities among Physically Challenged Women Adults

Abstract

Disability is the consequence of an impairment that can be physical, cognitive, mental, sensory, emotional, developmental, or combinations of these. In the present scenario, around 1.6 percent of Indian population are included in the criteria of physically challenged. Current review of literature suggests that physical disability has multiple negative effects on an individual’s expectation from self and others, life goals and aspirations. They have cynical attitude towards their life and require extensive motivation to develop positivity and hope in their life. This interested the researcher to explore the effect of motivational movies resilience of physically challenged people. A sample of 100 physically challenged women adults of 20 to 35 years of age were administered with coping scale. The results obtained through “t” test revealed change in resilience towards positive direction. Thus, we can conclude that physically challenged people who have better coping abilities can control their life events which leads to development of a positive, healthier and happier life in future.
