| Abstract | ||
Information and Communication Technology (ICT) has become a very effective tool for the development of economy from past decades. ICT refers to the infrastructure and various components which enable the creation, dissemination, storing, management and communication of the information. This includes computers, internet, mobile phones, broadcasting technologies (television and radio) and other communication mediums. It has become a driving force for the development of various sectors like banking, entertainment, health services, education, business etc. This study focuses on the impact of ICT on higher education in India. ICT integration in higher education ensures a very effective teaching learning process. The teachers should be provided training to adopt ICT. There are various steps or initiatives which are taken by the Government of India in order to encourage the integration of ICT in education. This study is based on the secondary data. Various websites, journal etc. have been used for access of information. |
