| Abstract | ||
Ganga sagar Mela is one of the famous fairs of India. It is held in the month of January every year on the Sagar islands of South 24 Parganas, West Bengal. It had a Puranic relevance –coming of mother Ganges on earth. People from all over India gather there to take a holy dip on the auspicious day of Poush Sankranti. State government and other organizations take due measures for the Sagar Mela. Participation of Local people also important. |
