Fostering Innovative Teaching Strategies in Commerce Education: A Pathway to Future-Ready Professionals

Abstract

This research focuses on the integration of innovative teaching strategies within the realm of commerce education. Recognizing the dynamic nature of the business world, this study seeks to identify and assess effective methods to enhance the educational experience for commerce students. The objective of this research is to find out innovative teaching strategies in Commerce subject and how a teacher can use these strategies in his classroom.  It was also found out what improvements can be made in the learning outcomes of students by using these teaching strategies. Through this research study, five types of teaching strategies (case-based learning, project-based learning, role playing and simulation learning, experiential learning and cross disciplinary interaction learning) were identified in commerce education. An attempt was made to explain these four types of teaching-learning strategies through related examples. These four types of teaching-learning strategies have potential to empower the students with practical skills, enhances critical thinking abilities, and prepares them for the challenges of the real world. This research provides valuable insights and practical recommendations for educators and institutions seeking to implement innovative approaches in their teaching practices.
