Abstract

Emotional intelligence (EI) and workplace stress are two crucial factors that affect an individual's productivity and overall well-being. Emotional intelligence, or EI, is the capacity to comprehend and control not just one's own feelings but also those of oneself and other people. In contrast, workplace stress refers to the negative physical and emotional responses an individual may experience due to the demands and pressures of their job.
This paper explores the relationship between EI and workplace stress, aiming to understand how EI can be used to mitigate workplace stress. According to many studies, persons with higher EI are better able to manage stressful circumstances, which leads to increased job satisfaction and productivity. These people are more self-aware, have better emotional regulation, and are more compassionate toward others. Furthermore, studies have indicated that EI training may improve a person's ability to manage job stress. People who develop EI skills such as self-awareness, self- regulation, social awareness, and relationship management may be better equipped to deal with the demands and stresses of their jobs.
This paper also discusses the implications of EI and workplace stress for organizational effectiveness. Increased work satisfaction, productivity, and lower turnover rates are possible outcomes for businesses that place a premium on helping their people grow their EI abilities. Such companies are also more likely to support a healthy workplace culture and climate. This study emphasises the value of EI in the business world and the necessity for companies to train their staff in EI skills in order to reduce employee stress and boost productivity.
