Abstract

A rise in temperatures can lead to droughts, wildfires, and pest outbreaks, resulting in plant species loss. A number of detrimental effects result from this, including: Reduced Productivity: Longer droughts and more heat waves will stress plants, reducing their productivity. The continuing decline in soil moisture can lead to smaller yields and even desertification, with potentially dramatic consequences for food production.
