Disparities in the level of health development in rural Murshidabad: A block level comparative study

| Abstract | ||
In India about 69% population live in rural areas. According to Mahatma Gandhi, villages should self-sufficient and production unit. But their infrastructure, resources, production capacity etc. are heterogeneous, so they are differently developed in health as well as overall development. In rural areas very frequently found the shortage of doctor and other trained health practitioners. Rural areas experience various disease, high infant mortality rate, high maternal mortality rate etc. Therefore rural areas of Murshidabad district are not equally developed in health. For the assessment of the study all blocks categorized into 5 groups. To analyse and represent the data factor analysis, Z-score and GIS techniques have been used. Middle-west Murshidabad have positively changed in this sectors time by time where eastern part of this district is depriving from health facilities. |
