| Abstract | ||
Today the main goal of a spinning company is to achieve yarn quality that will ensure better competitiveness. One of the concepts for improving yarn quality is introduced as, principle of compacting the drafted fibre strand on the ring frame by some means, before insertion of twist into it, termed as compact spinning technique. In this research paper, compare various characteristics of yarn produced using different types of compact spinning systems such as Rieter Com4 (Primo and Flowplus system), LMW RoCoS, Suessen EliTe, Statex ComState with conventional ring spinning systems of same manufacturers. Among the various compact systems studied, the Rieter Com4 system equipped with ‘Primo’ type of compactor gives much better performance in terms of both yarn quality and process efficiency. Compact spun yarns are more even than normal ring yarns and show reduction in yarn imperfections and faults giving lower level of imperfection index. |
