Causes of People Involvement in Terrorism: A study of Nepal

| Abstract | ||
Terrorism is a fear, havoc, violence and terror created by certain groups of interest among the general public. There are different motives of terrorism; it may be political, religious, economic or ideological. The ultimate impact of terrorism is destruction of life, structure and system so it is a global problem. Nepal is one small and peaceful country; the land of Buddha though it has faced internal conflict from some political groups. The main aim of this study was to identify the causative factors of terrorism in Nepal. The study was conducted among the 385 prisoners kept in the jail of major cities like Kathmandu, Pokhara, Chitwan and Surkhet. The quantitative data was collected from the structured questionnaire survey. The data is presented in the tabular form of this study. The quantitative analysis of data shows that the peer pressure, under compulsion, own interest and poverty are the major causative factor which compel the people to involve in terrorist activities. So, Nepal government should such problem in time to save the life of youth as well as to safe the Nation from destruction and fraction. |
