The realm of Library and Information Science (LIS) is in a state of perpetual transformation, facing a multitude of obstacles that influence the way research methodologies are applied and operational structures are constructed. This particular investigation is dedicated to delving into the contemporary afflictions that afflict LIS, which encompass issues such as ghost-writing, the practice of outsourcing data processing, data manipulation, widespread instances of plagiarism, the rise of cloud-based libraries, the surge in mobile applications, the integration of sophisticated expert systems, the development of web interfaces, the shift towards digital libraries, and the adjustment of library education in the digital or web-centric era. Through an exhaustive examination of secondary data gleaned from diverse online platforms and statistical outlets, the primary goal of this study is to expound upon the essence, scope, and consequences of these impediments on the trajectory of LIS trends. By investigating these emergent challenges and their repercussions on the discipline, this research offers invaluable perspectives into the ever-evolving terrain of LIS research, shedding light on the intricacies of its current landscape. Through the analysis of secondary data originating from online sources, an exploration is carried out to discern the influence of these patterns on the discipline, providing a deeper understanding of the intricate interplay between technological advancements and the field of LIS. |
