Abstract

Feminism is a complex set of social views, political movements, and moral theories that have arisen to the greater extent of women's experiences, particularly with regard to their social, political, financial and economic circumstances. Feminism, as a social movement, focuses primarily on restricting or restricting imbalances in gender preferences and expectations, and operates in the public eye to support women's rights, desires, and concerns. Males particularly these days have plenty to say about feminism in equal measure. Therefore, a study was carried out to explore the attitudes of men towards feminism as well as to analyze the degree of acceptance of men towards feminism. The accepted technique was method of descriptive survey. The research used convenience sampling and snowball sampling. The sample consisted of 200 Chennai males of different age groups. The authors designed a self-developed questionnaire consisting of 12 items to measure attitudes towards feminism, with multiple options for response. Participants were invited via Google Forms to participate in an online survey which was distributed via social media sites such as WhatsApp, Facebook, Twitter and Amino. For comparison and to observe the general patterns as indicated by the collected data, descriptive analysis and percentage analysis were performed. It was discovered from the findings that males are more accepting and have a positive outlook towards feminism these days.
