| Abstract | ||
The article present the spread of agricultural technology and implements used in Agriculture during medieval Bengal. As per as available sources is concerned, Parasara’s Kris-parasara, is called in Krsi-paddati and Krsi-samagraha, the book deals with the Agro-based Implements and Agricultural Technology in Bengal during the Period study. Parasara mentions the implements of Plough technology likes, Isa, Yuga, niryla etc. agriculture is the main occupation of the people in ancient to Medieval Bengal. During medieval Bengal land revenue was the key source of revenue. The development of the economy of a particular area largely depended on the extension of agriculture by bringing large amount of uncultivated land into cultivation. In fact, the development of agriculture in sultanate and Mughal Bengal animal and mechanical power used by some implements like, ploughing, sowing, irrigation, intercultural operations, harvesting, threshing, cleaning, sorting and processing etc. |
