Abstract

Fourteen countries share its border with People Republic of China including Hong Kong and Macau with 22,117 kilometres longest land border in the world. Out of this land border China has disputed border with Bhutan, India and many more. In fact the conflict of China also affects borders of China and the border of concerned country. Although China has seen various political stages, from radical Maoism to the era of Deng Xiaoping, yet China has promised never to attack another country first-only to counter attack if another country attacks it, as an act part of slogan “we will never seek hegemony” since Chairman Mao. Hence China heaps scorns on those who believe that China has long-range hegemonic ambitions. Most of China‟s News Agencies and official statements always emphasised over that China‟s only target in its foreign affairs, in political and military fields is to promote world peace and development. Same statements made by almost all officials concerned with china‟s People liberation Army then of course there is need to analyse national defence policy and military strategy of China towards its immediate neighbours and powerful remote regions of globe. Despite many bounteous claims over Doklam from both the sides there over 126 years and after having every military capability China is not over reacting to the status quo. In this research paper we will discuss many possible reasons behind the present and past reactions of China towards its neighbours and will find the future prospects. Briefly discussing the factors we will discuss whether China is trying a new type of major power relationship, focusing on to shape future regional and global orders, defining a NAM strategy, trying to be a better part of century, focusing on global growth not on war, influence on power and strategic space, trying to maintain momentum of growth to be number one by replacing America on GDP, potentially trying to reshape world politics of international relations, preference on global stability, sea route matters more than land routes and maritime aspirations, commitment with remote global powers of present era or it is working on the other virtual mediums of war. China‟s recent border standoff with India on behalf of Bhutan in Doklam remained for two months one week and five days from 16th 2017 onwards. If we check the present status then it is disengaged. Despite the claim of China for Doklam since 1890‟s convention of Calcutta we will analyse many other reasons to analyse behind the conflict and continuity of conflict.
