| Abstract | ||
One of the key components of modern society is information. The information should be accurate, reliable, accessible, authoritative and timely. The emergence and use of information technology service brought tremendous changes in the information processing and retrieval. Information technology has changed the world and has become one of the important tools for retrieving information. Electronic resources are now used more often than print resources. Students as well as teachers are uses these resources for various academic activities. However, it is not known whether users are aware of these resources or the extent to which users make use of available electronic resources and the challenges they face in accessing and using e-resources in the library. Although there is abundant literature on the challenges of access and use of e-resources in libraries, yet there is inadequate literature as far as special libraries are concerned. The present study is an attempt to understand the awareness and use of e-resources in academic libraries and to find out the problem faced by the librarians and users for the acquisition and access of e-resources respectively. |
