| Abstract | ||
In Vietnam, migration, especially migration for employment, is a livelihood support strategy for households exposed to agricultural and economic shocks. This study examines the impact of migration on income poverty in rural Vietnam. The analysis uses panel data of 2800 rural households in Vietnam from the Viet Nam household living standards survey (VHLSS) data set in 2016 and 2018. Using econometric regression with the probit model for dependent variables, which is a binary variable, the empirical evidence shows that migration has a positive effect on poverty reduction. This implies that strengthening and promoting migration will help people to improve their welfare. |
