The Contribution of Shri Shivaji Education Society, Amravati in Inter-University Sports Competitions of Vidarbha region universities

Physical education and sports are considered as one of the most important factors in developing personality. The main purpose of physical education is the overall development of the individual through physical activity. Keeping this objective in mind and working in the college of the Society, The study has been completed on the purpose of seeing “The Contribution of Shri Shivaji Education Society, Amravati in the field of Physical Education & Sports. Total 28 colleges run by Shri Shivaji Education Society are affiliated to Sant Gadgebaba Amravati University, Rashtrasant Tukadoji Maharaj Nagpur University, Nagpur, Dr.Panabrao Deshmukh Krushi Vidyapith, Akola, Health Sciences University Nashik and Mumbai Technical Board. To complete this study, we compiled ten yearly sessions of 1999-2000 to 2007-08 through a questionnaire based on the factors required for sports development and the annual report of the university and the institution. In Chapter three the research methodology was set out. In Chapter Four, tables and graphs were used to analyze and explain the data. It has been concluded that the selection ratio of players selected in university team to total university players is much higher than the ratio of Shri Shivaji Education Society’s colleges to total number of colleges and this means that Shri Shivaji Education Society’s colleges were performing excellent and has been creating very good players in the field of sports.
