The plot revolve around two central migrate character Biju and Sai from India to United States of America. Novel considered the experience of an immigrant and their hardship on the new place. Kiran Desai depicted that disregarded Indian culture and identity and who accepted the English way of life. It deals with the feeling and emotion of persons living India and also people coming from United States and back to their native land. Novelist tries to point out that contradiction between both American and Indian culture with present and past time.
