| Abstract | ||
Increasing traffic in the city is a major concern in all Indian cities. Heterogeneous traffic is more diverse due to the lane change and lack of discipline of the drivers track in India. This paper presents increasing the capacity of intersection at Sheela bye pass Junction, Rohtak, which is one most rushing point of vehicles and transport. Rohtak is a fastest growing city suffering from traffic congestion. The object of this paper is to screen out problem and to provide necessary solutions. The analysis is based on video graphic method, data has been collected of peak hours at the selected intersection. Volume conversion is carried out by adopting PCU values from IRC recommendations. Various other traffic flow characteristics are calculated from empirical formula proposed by Transportation Road Research Lab (TRL). Various alternatives has been referred for the solution and out of various alternatives rotary design is taken into account which will be helpful in managing traffic flow on intersection. |
