| Abstract | ||
There are various factors that influence students in their selection of Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) in India. High school guidance counselors, parents, college faculty members or alumni from a particular college are the most influential ones in helping students with the college selection process. Other types of admissions media like the Internet and printed material also influence college students in the college selection process. The most prevalent factors in the college selection process in India may be grouped into four main categories: academic issues, social issues, personal issues, and financial issues. This paper is an attempt at a description of the key factors affecting the rural and the urban choices of HEIs in Assam, India. |
