A study on Financial Performance of Private Sector General Insurance Companies in India

Abstract

Financial performance is one of the tools for measuring the firm’s policies and operations in monetary terms. It is used to analyze the overall firm’s financial health for a particular period of time and also helped to compare the similar industry across the country. From this financial performance tool this study analyzes the selected three private sector general insurance company’s overall financial performance for 5 years from 2013 to 2017. Based on the market performance of these three insurance companies are selected for this study. It is an empirical study based on data from IRDAI annual reports. The hypothesis is to test different between the expenses of the sampled companies during the period of study. The analysis reveals that, there is a difference in expenses of selected all three private sector general insurance companies during the period.
